Hyper-V Virtual Monitoring Appliance Debuts

September 3rd, 2008

Techout, a leader in internet performance engineering products and services, announced it will be demonstrating the industry’s first Hyper-V™-ready Virtual Web Monitoring Appliance at Microsoft’s Virtualization launch on September 8, 2008  at the Meyenbauer Center, Bellevue, WA.  Microsoft will be introducing its virtualization products at this event, including Windows Server 2008® with Hyper-V, and Techout will be demonstrating its web monitoring solution in the Solution Pavilion, booth# S11.

Designed to enable users to leverage the Hyper-V framework to monitor internal web transaction and SOAP web services that reside within the firewall, Techout’s web monitoring appliance reduces or eliminates the need for hardware procurement, installation, configuration or maintenance resulting in a lower total cost of ownership.

“Hyper-V will be a formidable force in the virtualization market and we are excited to demonstrate the first Hyper-V virtual web monitoring appliance at this event,” said John D’Esposito, company founder and Chief Technology Officer. “We believe there are no other solutions on the market today that provide the sophisticated features of the Techout appliance. With unparalleled accuracy in detecting and identifying problems, we ensure that an organization’s key internal and external web applications, business transactions and SOAP web services are highly available and responsive.”

The Techout Virtual Web Monitoring Appliance can be also be deployed on VmWare, VmWare ESX, Virtual Iron, Zen Server Enterprise, Open Source Zen, Parallels, and directly to the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud.

NJ Internet performance engineering company uses virtual web monitoring technology to monitor and measure businesses’ key web system performance indicators

Techout.com, Inc. has announced the launch of its Virtual Web Monitoring Appliance, a dedicated solution that ensures an organization’s key internal and external web applications, — URLs, business transactions and SOAP web services — run as intended using 24/7 automated monitoring and troubleshooting. Techout.com is leveraging rPath’s rBuilder® and the rPath® Appliance Platform to assist businesses in minimizing slowdowns and outages of internal mission-critical web-based applications by identifying performance issues and aiding in their resolution.

According to Techout.com founder and Chief Technology Officer John D’Esposito, using virtual technology speeds users’ ability to install and deploy the appliance. Says D’Esposito, “Today’s virtual appliance technology eliminates long, complex, and often expensive installation and configuration cycles for customers. Because our virtual monitoring solution is pre-built, pre-configured, and ready-to-run inside a virtual machine, customers on a variety of platforms will find it eliminates the downsides of traditional software installation and maintenance. Collaborating with rPath enables us to reduce costs, streamline deployments, and provide the highest quality products and services to Technet customers.”

Techout.com’s Virtual Web Monitoring Appliance uses the company’s patent-pending Variable Simultaneous Angulation (VSA) technology to continuously monitor the responsiveness of a company’s internal  and external web applications. This embedded VSA technology offers unparalleled accuracy in detecting and identifying problems, using the industry’s first cluster member failure detection — one of the most difficult types of failures to detect.

The Virtual Web Monitoring Appliance was developed in partnership with rPath,   the first provider of a platform that transforms applications into virtual appliances. Together, rPath’s rBuilder and the rPath Appliance Platform are enabling Techout.com to consistently deliver its remotely-deployed and sophisticated web monitoring platform, while reducing maintenance costs and providing best-in-class service to its worldwide customers.

“Virtual appliances are the new de-facto application architecture for delivering applications to customers on premise, or on-demand,” said Billy Marshall, founder and CEO of rPath. “Virtual appliances created with rPath’s technology have already enabled hundreds of leading application providers like Techout.com to expand into new markets, open new channels of distribution and reduce development costs.”
